i am white mate and while i do agree with you largely on that (white people/europeans have done lots of bad things) we have to acknowledge that its not a mans skin colour that decides what sort of a man he is but his qualities and personality...just because a guy is white doesnt mean he is a redneck KKK guy

I don't think anyone is suggesting that all white people are inherently evil racist. However, to understand things you have to take into account the history of racism. Race is a social invention, there's really nothing biological about it. Which brings up the next question, why was it invented? To give power and privilege by dividing people, much like social classes. Since it's inception the category "white" has really acted like nothing more than a organization where white skin is the key qualification to receive the advantages of it. Therefore anyone who was categorized as non-white (black, yellow, or red) is placed at a disadvantage. Unfortunately racism has had a such a stronghold on society that people truly believe they are part of some white race and therefore need to be loyal to it. That's why I find it silly when people try to justify white-pride. So going back to my first sentence it's more about the influence of society opposed to bad nature of the individual which I believe can be undone since it racism hasn't always existed.

Race of course is different than ethnicity. There's nothing wrong in my opinion with being proud of your Irish, German, etc. roots. as long is doesn't mean demeaning everyone who is different.

I'm sure some people won't like what I've said and/or simply won't accept it but it's the truth.

So then should black people claim something more specific such as Nigerian pride rather than black pride? Or how about replacing brown pride with Zacatecas pride? Or does it simply apply to only caucasians? I'm just saying.......and I like what you said.

Well, since racial categories do exist they have to be acknowledged in order to combat racism. You can't just simply associate yourself with, for example, being Nigerian and not Black. I think you can be pro-Black, Latino, Asian, etc. and also take pride in your respected ethnicity as well. White people have to acknowledge being white too and the privilege and power that comes with it. It's a group effort. White people need to give up power and non-white people need to empower themselves to order to achieve equality to the point that "white" and "black" truly mean nothing more than skin color.
