I think with the amount of rounds of full contact combat sports that VK has had in his life, a long layoff is probably going to see him come back refreshed and focussed rather than rusted out. Failed apirations as a politician have probably confirmed to him that he was a boxer first seeing as I remember he lacked focus some years ago. There is no way Peter has the chin or power to trouble VK. People who think Peter has top tier heavyweight power obviously haven't been around to see true hitters. VK isn't a top level hitter either but has much more in his gloves than SP. He certainly has enough power to accumulate damage and drop opponents down the stretch as his crazy yet padded record suggest. VK by UD.

      I'm shocked by these picks.

I guess these guys place an awful lost of emphasis on the long lay-off and the belief Vitali is a physical wreck and completely shot.

I just think if Vitali is anything like Vitali he will beat the absolute ****e out of Peter. Who is not a good champ IMO, very ordinary, very slow, very hittable but to his credit punches his weight.

I'd put money on Vitali not on the fat, shorter, slow guy.

I'm stunned that Vitali is actually going to make it to the ring w/ no postponements.

Thats dumb, has anyone ever seen peter fight? he is horrible as hell. Vitali would have to be more then shot then Oleg Maskaev to lose to Peter. And he lost in the McCline fight, he should have 2 losses on his record and some people even think he lost against james toney(didn't see that one), so that makes 3 losses.
I know it helps your argument to say that Peter lost to McCline, McCline himself admitted that he lost that fight.

We know Audley Harrison would beat them both. It would be a repeat of what Audley did to Peter in the Olympics

Vit wouldn't fight Audley then because he was too busy getting busted for drugs and cowering in a corner

You just need to watch him to respect his power. Wlad is a good boxer-puncher but I don't consider him a puncher like Peter. Vitali hit harder than Peter, this is an unfounded comment, Vitali stopped Danny Williams and rocked a bloated, inactive Lennox Lewis a couple of times, is this what you're basing that on?

                Fool
Wlad didnt put everything into his right hands,

these "3 knockdowns" you are talking about, 2 were blatant rabbit punches, i dont see how anyone could deny that

as for Toney knockdown that was clearly to do with poor footwork,

Toney squared up and got hit with a jab, nothing to do with power just bad footwork

The first fight was real close, Toney was countering brilliantly, the second Peter won nearly every round, threw a bunchload of punches and looked great.

Vitali stands upright, his chin is in the air, he's stiff, and he hasn't fought in four years. Now he's fighting the heavyweight divisions most dangerous puncher without a tune-up. Gulp. Peter will decimate
                ok

For evidence just look at his fights with Toney, particularly the rematch where he showed excellent stamina, ring generalship, pretty much everything was working that night, minus the blip against McCline - the three KD's - and let's be honest, that was a late substitute and McCline is huge, and awkward - he has looked very solid, he's 9-1 in the period of four years where Klitschko hasn't even had a fight, Vitali is in for the shock of his life on Saturday night, Peter will be on him like a cheap suit
                ok
