well keep in mind K-1 does allow knees I believe

It's not knees or leg kicks or what k1 allows. It's skill. K1 is worlds better at kickboxing at an elite level than Anderson is. Period.

That is not to say he isn't very good, it's just that he's not an elite Kickboxer.

look, almost NO MMAers are elite at ANYTHING.

The best BJJ guy in MMA ? Not gonna Medal at ADCC or Worlds or Mundials.

Best Judoka? Sambo guy? Would get smoked in the Olympic world tournaments.

Best boxer? Lol. KOED by a journeyman in his weight class outside the top 100.

      Best Thai guy?

You get the idea. None of these guys HAVE to be elite at anything. And they aren't. And that's okay. It's a different sport. More than the sum of one or two parts.

yeah your probably right, as I don't see an Elite full time K-1 Kick boxer losing to Anderson Silva ... although Silva might take Hong Man Choi .. if he doesn't get caught Anderson Silva's got a punchers/kickers chance at best vs any elite K-1 fighter

much like blackirish's example of a boxer in MMA .. same case goes for the above.

it's not his sport and the chance of winning is very very little.

o yeah it's called Mixed Martial Arts for a reason. which going back to what you said, and the name itself .. MMA .. it's a blending of combative sports in not just stand up, but the ground game, etc

yeah I know there all diff sports and im not trying to compare them to each other

Im just tired of reading the same boring crap about "MMA taking over" "boxing declining because too many greedy promoters/PPV prices"

It would be more interesting to read about Fighters who competed in 1 or more of the Combat sports

rather then mindlessly throw MMA + Boxing together and write about them ... as it's been done two many times to count.
