Juan Manuel Lopez Plans To Rise Until 135-Pounds

WBO super bantamweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez (23-0, 21KOs) is starting to make a lot of noise in the sport. After nine knockouts coming within the first-round, which include his last to fights, people are starting to call him the new "Hands of Stone," but Lopez, a very humble fighter, says that a lot of fighters hit hard. Lopez should CTFD until he does some more good work at 122, and then he can start thinking about 126. He needs to forget about 135 until like 5 years from now at least.

He has the height to carry 135 but he shouldn't be thinking that far ahead.

I think the new Bazooka is more appropriate for him.

              I know you did sugar.

I think that the Cintron comparison is pretty bad by the way. Lopez has quickness, and above all, showed that he doesn't wilt under pressure against Ponce de Leon, like Cintron has shown that he does against Margarito and Feliciano.

              Nahmean?

i put cintron as a comparison because i dont think that highly of lopez, YET, Hes being praised to fast like Bautista and Khan were, based on him beating ponce de leon

lol thats the big thing about juanma we never seen him against a pressure fighter
i dont count the 3 mins his fights lasted against ponce de leon like a a proof he can withstand pressure it just showed his explosive power

That's a pretty fair criticism at this stage I think.

I have really high hopes for him, and I'm excited for him because I'm a fan, but... really... Ponce de Leon can only be so good, no matter how much you think of him, he clearly has his limitations.

And Daniel Ponce de Leon is his best win at this point too, so, it is very difficult to say that Lopez has been truly tested against the best.

I'm just excited for him to get in there with the winner of Caballero/Molitor, Marquez or Vazquez at some point.

The good news is that he hasn't shown a significant weakness to this point, like Khan and Bautista had before their losses (Khan - Chin, Bautista - Chin/Complete lack of skill).
