Remember what happened with the last light weight who jumped up to face Oscar

Granted, "The Other Guy" had a few 147 fights first, and I am picking Oscar, but just keep it in mind, because I have not heard that mentioned at all.

If the other guy you're talking about is Mosley, it's a different thing, Mosley fought at junior welterweight in the amateurs which is 141 pounds, he had to boil himself down to make 135, 147 was natural progression for him, very different from what Pacquiao is doing and they have different styles.

Exactly. Mosley is a totally different situation. Whenever anyone brings up Pac's size issue I just refer them back 18 or so months when everyone was questioning if Pac was not effective enough at 130.

I agree with Silencers, plus I think prime Mosely was a bit faster then Manny, plus having fought Mosely twice and Floyd (2 of the quickest fighters I can think of) I think he has a general idea on how to avoid that from happening again.

Pacquiao is no Mosley, but De La Hoya isnt nearly as good as he was when he fought Mosley.

honestly, Pacquiao and Mosley somewhat fight alike. Mosley isnt the boxer that people make him out to be sometimes...hes mostly an aggressive fighter who relies on his speed and strength in exchanges, and is usually best when he gets off first.
theres plenty of differences, but Mosley and Pacquiao are still comparable.

I have heard it mentioned several times.
Mosley was a huge 135er, and his body was begging him to move up. He peaked at about 154.
Pac is a natural 122er, and his body pretty much peaked at 135.
Pac isnt a Mosley OR a Duran, he is naturally smaller than either of those guys.

All this is true, and all good points. I think Pacquiao is being counted out too much. I do not count him out, I simply expect him to be dominated and KO'd.

agree, I also think he may be finished after this fight and the Hatton fight that he will not return to 135

                    Steve Forbes?

Well, he fought around 150 for the Contender at least, and was fighting around 140 when he jumped to 150 again to fight DLH.

Mosley was a huge LW though. He even outweighed DLH unofficially on the night of the fight, 155 to 152.
