Seems like everybody has a different definition for the term "shot".
My official definition of a fighter being shot is: A fighter that shouldn't be fighting anymore because he isn't there anymore and his reflexes are gone. This is usually due to having been in too many wars, having taken too much punishment, or a combination of the two. This is not to be confused with a fighter that is past his prime.
Misuse:
Pacquiao v Morales II. Morales surely was past his prime, however he wasn't shot, and that fight in itself was still a competitive fight until the late, late rounds in which you could tell Morales was done.
Correct use:
Pacquiao v Morales III. You could tell Morales was a shell of his former self. The look on his face when he was shaking his head on the canvas explains itself.
