    ricky hatton.....

im starting to like the guy, im watching some of his early fights and he def. has skill, slipping his head, rolling, getting inside with combos

just lately he has been wrestling and defending with his face, but i think training with floyd sr will get rid of all that bull**** and bring back some skill to hattons game

at his best he is a controlled maniac in the sense he charges in but he can look after himself defensively

im starting to think he has a real good chance with paulie and training with floyd sr will bring back that sort of controlled mayhem that made him britains best and most popular fighter

i guess i sort of disliked him before cause of him beating kostya lol

does anyone else think that floyd sr wil bring back that sort of controlled offensive destruction? and get rid of his ridiculous excessive clinching? hopefully he has learnt from the floyd fight he wont get away with that in america

    He does hold too much.

But there is a guy out there who clinches as much if not more than Ricky Hatton, stand-up Paulie Malignaggi.

It could get scrappy man. But I agree with you but people will say because apart from fits and spurts against Urango and Lazcano he hasn't looked like that Hatton because the quality of the opposition can hurt him. Paulie can't though I don't think. Hatton should look brilliant, if he doesn't he is truly shot.

Yes, I do think Floyd Sr. can bring out the best in Ricky. At least, I hope so. Hatton is better than some people around here give him credit for. He has gotten into some bad habits but I think he's been needing a better trainer for quite a while. If anyone can bring out the best in him, Floyd is that man.

I also agree -- if he struggles with Paulie, Hatton is done. I don't feel he'll struggle at all, I think he'll destroy Malignaggi. Intense, but controlled and smart due to Floyd's guidance.

There is no chance of Malignaggi stopping Hatton unless he gets cut very bad.

i guess its about how much Hatton has left in the tank he has looked on the slide to me since the Maussa fight he struggled badly against Collazo and Urango allthough that could be down to that horrible style he adopted post Tszyu i guess it worked for him against Tszyu so he thought why change it

I think a lot of his holding had to do with a lack of fitness late in those fights with Urango/Collazo etc

but his lack of fitness was poor conditioning because he is too busy shifting weight instead of conditioning himself cardio wise and that is due to lack of discpline outside the ring and make no mistake about it punishing your body like that will take something away from you eventually see Rid**** Bowe

I agree but the human body has a remarkable capacity to recover too if treated well. Hatton is still relatively young too so I think he can still achieve a high level of fitness, at least for 3 more years. Thats when soccer players aerobic fitness starts to drop off (i.e. 33)

If you put a letter F to replace the H in Hatton...you get Fatton.

Get it lol? FAT ton. hahaha

                    fair enough but

im not worried about his fitness levels its his ability to absorb punishment that i think has gone due to his poor lifestyle i think his skills maybe erroding too
