Cotto vs. Margarito - Any different if Margarito beat Williams?

Let's say Margarito beat Paul Williams in 2007 after Cotto had dismantled Zab Judah. If they had fought in November 2007, would the fight have been any different? Let's say Margarito beat Williams in the same manner he fought, starting slow. Could Cotto have racked up enough points on the scorecards, and avoided damage enough early in the fight that he would make it through 12? Or would Margarito simply be too much for Cotto, even fighting at a bit of a slower pace?

Personally i don't think Margarito has sped up his attack early all that much. Against Williams it was more to do with Williams throwing too much and boxing well that Margarito couldn't get anything going.

Against Cotto, Cotto completely slowed his workrate down in the early rounds with his boxing. It was not until Cotto slowed down in the middle rounds that Margarito was able to start getting his punches in, the same happened with Williams.

The fight between the two probably would of played out very similar.

Styles make fights. This fight would always be the same, which is why there's no point to a rematch.

Cotto needz to clinch. Also standing on the inside could reduce Margarito's power, Not his uppercut

if your trying to say that the cotto that beat judah met the margarito that lost to williams who would win, the answer is still margarito because margarito is just too tough for cotto and cotto's punch selection and stamina are still bad.

the marg that lost to williams would've beaten clottey decisively.

cotto might have a chance against the marg that beat clottey since marg fans always cry about how margarito hurt his hands and had a bad camp.

if your'e asking if margarito had beaten williams would that make margarito THE MAN at 147 the answer is yes, but since margarito lost to williams he has no claim of being THE MAN.
