Felix Trinidad: "Juanma Could Become My Successor"

Juan Manuel Lopez's 47-second demolition of Cesar Figueroa, last week in Puerto Rico, left such an impression on Felix Trinidad, that the former three-division champion called Lopez his possible successor, becoming the next icon of Puerto Rico. Trinidad says the unbeaten WBO super bantamweight champ reminded him of himself when he was coming up in the welterweight ranks. [details]

Lopez does seem much more outgoing than Cotto, a lot more charismatic as well so I can see the Puerto Rican people embracing him like they did Trinidad but he needs to keep winning and winning in style.

And Trinidad is right, Lopez sets up that right hook by throwing a left hand lead and coming back with the hook, it was very effectively used by Trinidad from an orthodox stance.

Nope, for some reason he never liked Cotto. Never really attended any of his fights except the Shane one, but that's only because he was in New York with ROy promoting their fight. I found it odd that he was in the corner of Juanama Saturday hyping him up yet when asked in the past about Cotto all he said was that he always goes with his countrymen. Anyone find this kind of weird?

some pr posters used to think Trinidad was jealous of Cotto and the love he got from the pr and in some ways now i see it, especially how he has written off Cotto, just goes to show that Santos was right with what he said about pr

truth is TITO dislikes COTTO, cause COTTO between fights likes to booze it up and has on several occasions disrespected females at the local pubs in CAGUAS. He's a pro when it comes to boxing, but he's know'n to be a partyer and has staggered out of many watering holes in P.R. TITO was not that way, and does not accept it.

That's a totally sweet way to set up that hook. The jab is like non-existant in his knockout attack. Incredible.

i've heard that before, its hard to belive seeing how cotto acts on tv, that is understandable reason for Trinidad to hate cotto but instead he should talk to cotto about that instead of talking behind his back

                    cotto > lopez.

                    trinidads the man, but stfu.

                    lopez shouldnt be nobodys "successor"

he should his own man and build his own legacy, not become in a shadow of a jealous ex-superstar.
