So we got the 41 wins for PR, but the Mexican wins were way off. Were now at 35 for Mexico. Remove the Oscar fights and we're at 32 Mexico, 40 PR. I've saved this to a text file, if anyone can verify anymore Mexico vs Puerto Rico championship fights please advise.

    • Escobar vs Casanova was for a Montreal Championship, not a major World Championship. New count Mexico 35, Puerto Rico 40. In doing my research, I found that a lot of the Puerto Ricans defended thier titles against total tomato cans, like Mexican, Eddie Vallejo who's career record was a whoping 3 wins and 10 losses. Anyway, here's the updated list with the championships in parenthesis. Maybe I'll add records for the next update. Seems to be a work in progress now.

I thought it was for a Montreal belt, difference in that and a World Champion belt. Guess we have to ask the old schools.

I know there is some tomato cans too from PR but it seems to me there is more PR champions fighting Mexican bums.

Yeah, that Montreal Championship is shady, it don't count. Other lists do include Oscar and Vargas, but I only included De La Hoya because he officially is a Mexican Citizen in that he has dual citizenship. He is technically Mexican by nationality.

              • Puerto Rico has produced a heavyweight champion. Mexico hasn’t. Mexico has produced more champions. PR produces more champions per captia wise. I would call it even overall
