Luis Collazo: "I Think Andre Berto is Still Green"

Former welterweight champion Luis Collazo (29-3, 14KOs) is focused on reclaiming his title in 2009. Collazo is in line to fight WBC welterweight Andre Berto (23-0, 19KOs). Moves are being made to hold the fight in the early part of next year. Speaking with BoxingScene.com's Ernest Gabion, Collazo feels that his experience will be too much for Berto, who he still views a being a bit green in the ring. [details]

thats if Berto stays at 147....i think he knows hes small in this division and may move down to 140 to avoid the big fighters like Margarito, Williams, Cintron, and Even Cotto(whos a heavy puncher with Skills)... it would be a good fight but after Collazo there is not many more name fighters he can beat at 147, hell i think Clottey would wax his ass as well... at 140 he would be better suited and he would be the big guy of that division instead of a paper champion at 147

Collazo is good enuf to test Berto but not good enuf to win imo. I expect a Berto victory, but how impressive he looks will decide if he can step to the top dogs by next year's end.

Berto wins but it'll be a hard fought victory.

This is the first real test for Berto. Unfortunately, even if he passes it the four names at the top of the division are about as large an obstacle as any fighter could be presented with.

Berto's hardest test. He should pass through a unanimous decision, but Collazo's experience will provide problems along the way. The top 4 are in a different league, so it still tells us nothing on how ready he will be. I think Cotto is the man he needs to fight.

                    berto beats collazo...by stoppage...around the 9th round...

berto is too fast...too smart...too slick...too strong for collazo...

it would be a good test of berto but berto will definately pass that test.

                    berto by KO.
