As for the Boxing CBS thing boxing make more omnoey for the boxers and promoters by doing PPV events and through contracts for eityher individual fightes or certain promotions with HBO and Showtime. So the while CBS thing is crap. If boxing wanted to be on CBS they could and get good sponsers as well. Corona, Ticate, Budwiser etc would all kick in money and gladly show their commercials to the boxing fans. They choose not to do CBS, NBC or ABC. they been their and done that they have moved on. You can't put your average MMA event on PPV and get just anyobdy to buy it. The average boxing fan will buy PPV and they find the boxing sometimes boring if a fighter is clintching or using his jab the whole grapling on the ground and rubbing all over eachother on the mat is BORING.
The reason Kimbo is hated is the MIKE TYSON persona. He gave the average MMA fan what they wanted great stand up and dramayic knock outs.....Save the race card and the otehr bull for peiople who belive it....LeftyComment

So, lemme get this straight: You believe that Kimbo is ridiculed because he's black, and not because he's an overhyped novice? Just want to be clear on this...
I honestly cannot ever remember seeing such an outporing of joy from so many people after a sporting defeat like the one after Kimbo lost.
But why?
I actually made a thread ask this straight after the fight. I mean, people were hyper-ventilating due to the joy and laughter. It just struck me as odd. I couldn't get my head around it....
And then I myself acknowlegded the elephant...
Kimbo is black.
Now, I'm not saying everyone hates him so much because of his race and religion. I myself dislike some sportsment for reasons which probably wouldn't up to scrutiny. I know sometimes it just happens.
But come on, folks. We're talking something like 95% of people who were delighted to see a man get brutally knocked out in front of his family. That can't be right. I don't just mean people on here, I'm talking everywhere - other boxing/mma forums, non-boxing forums, real life.
Look, I'm one of those people who becomes exasperated when people go for the race card. That whole Floyd/HBO thing was bollocks.
But, IMHO, I cant see any other reason here.
Kimbo might be a little ****y but which mma'er isn't???? In fact, I always construed this attitude more as ambition rather than a loathsome hubris.
See, let's compare him to Naseem Hamed. I used to know people who used to think he was despised because of his race. I disagreed because I thought he was just such a disrespectful prick sometimes (although I do love him now more than I ever did back then) that people thought he was insufferable.
But Kimbo...he seems like a decent guy. For all his chin/defence problems, I admire his heart to get up and keep going. The kid's got bottle. And he's never been mean and horribly cutting that some boxers can be.
And yet...people despise him to a frightening degree.
What gets me the most are all the ****ing yanks who hate him. These ****s should be thankful that a 30+ year old kid had the balls to front up and fight men older and more experienced than him. If it wasn't for Kimbo, you wouldn't have even had decent you tube fight videos, ...or have you ****ing forgotten that? And do you not think Kimbo was inspiration in some way to the team of 2008? ****s.
Anyway...
I just find all the Kimbo hate borderline disturbing. And even though it's a depressing thought, I cannot help but feel that who he is - a young black male- is the reason for all the vitriol.

Geez lads this thread was a parody of the khan thread. I was pointing out how ****** the whole race hate thing is. I was kind of satirising the race hate card that crops up too much.
I also like the way some people agreed with the same thread about khan, but not about Kimbo. I think this speaks volumes, but I'm not going to divulge my thoughts, as that really would be creating an ill informed **** stormComment

I was more happy when Lidell was knocked out cold by Evans. I saw more white fans and fighters visibly upset that Chuck was done in.
Most people were happy to see Kimbo get rocked not because hes Black, but because of the way he was boosted to superstar status by being an internet star. By being able to headline shows, be the main name for a CBS event, without ever having ever put in the proper time.Comment
