However, JUANMA leaves himself SOOOOO open when he throws. When you get a very very very talented fighter in there like Vazquez, who is an experienced veteran, he is going to be able to take advantage.

I think he would be able to knock Juanma out. But obviously, like everyone else, its a fight i would love to see because i dont think Vazquez winning is anytihng close to a garuntee
a couple of months ago i would of agreed but lopez is a very calm composed fighter and his counter punching skills are incredible so as of right now i would go with lopez

That's a good point, however, Juanma has very good technique and boxing skills - uses his jab to set things up, good movement, etc. He's not a head hunter/brawler. In fact, he's very patient/composed for his age/experience.

The question for me is does he know how to adjust his game plan if Plan A isn't working. That's what's exciting about that matchup (Izzy or Rafa).

Izzy can't afford to get hit by Juanma like he usually does.

I concur if you saw my other post. I think Juanma knocks out Marquez brutally and probably Vasquez as well. Both guys are chinny, Marquez being worse, and I think Juanma is just so damn technically sound. It's not like he requires a slugfest in these FIRST ROUNDS, to KO his opponent. He's simply waiting patiently and as you say he leaves himself open to be KOed, well he waits for his opponent to leave themselves open to unleash his hook or set it up with a beautiful straight left. I think Juanma NEEDS to fight Vasquez or Marquez because he's simply in another league as far as any guy below those 2 guys go. This guy is for real and his power is frightening. Figeroa wasn't so badly KOed, he just didn't want to get back up so he musta felt a punch he's never felt before and didn't want to again.

Agreed!!! He doesn't need to brawl, exposing himself like Gamboa.

I can't imagine Vazquez having enough left to beat a young, gifted fighter like Lopez at this point. He has a punchers chance obviously, but the guy has been through so many grueling fights that he has to start showing the signs soon here. Larios, Gonzalez, Marquez trilogy....some brutal fights.

Lopez may just be too much for him regardless. I think Lopez is a damned good fighter...he'd beat Vazquez if they faced each other next.
