    Should Weigh-in rules be changed?

So that a fighter had to be on or under the limit on the night of the fight? It doesn't seem healthy to do it that way, Abraham dehydrating himself causes flu like effects but with that much fluid and fat burnt off you are more vunerable to disease so either way it isn't healthy.

Guys like Guzman, Abraham would be safe and healthy and it would quiet all the whiners about fighter being too big for a weight class (which isn't true as long as you comply to the rules you're eligible)

I don't think it would work, fighters would just cut weight and not rehydrate between the weigh in and the fight.

If it was that way, people would fight closer to their actual weight and there would be less dehydration since you can't put on all that weight back in a matter of hours.

I believe it should...no more than 15 pounds of rehydration

I don't think it would work, fighter would know it would damage them too much s othey wouldn't risk no rehydrating and you'd get more guys fighting at their natural weight. These used to be the rules of the weigh in's in the old days.

If the money is right, it'll happen and it leads to higher risk of brain damage, that's why they got rid of it in the first place. You are right though, it would get more fighters fighting in their natural weight classes.

The truth is that there probably is no easy solution for this problem. It's getting to the point where we may one day have a boxing tragedy even without any punches being thrown.

There is an obvious solution change the weigh in day to the day of the fighgt AND make sure that a fighter is hydrated at the same time otherwise stop the fight before it happens. It may displease people waiting a long time for a certain fight only for it to be delayed but it's there to protect a fighters health
