Btw, I love that bit on the Tim Littles fight, and the difference that separates good with greatness.

Put me down as a buyer for the book when it's done, Iceman.
I am 36 now and I used to think the same thing when I was 19-20 years old. The thing is, 40 is still very young, I know you hear that from people but I enjoy life much more now then I did when I was your age.

I understand things better now, I am more tempered and I still keep in shape so my physical body hasn't suffered much. Granted I can't go like I could 20 years ago but I still spar with kids your age and not one in my gym can best me. I also have a lot of experience under my belt.

I think you don't start really getting old until you get into your late 70's and 80's. I have been lucky I guess, i still have all my hair and have always looked young, genes and not abusing yourself too much I guess.

Man, I wish fights today lived up to the hype that fight had. Two of the best in their division, two all time greats, who had an AMAZING fight.

The only fight of recent times that had hype like theirs might have been PBF-Oscar.

THAT showed how much the media AND the general public cared...now you will have RJ-Calz, Hops-Pav, etc etc...and they wont get ANY play on network TV
Technology happened like the internet for example. People now can hype themselves anywhere, anytime. We don't have to wait for the papers now or magazines for interviews and articles.

The difference is, though, that back then Leonard-Hearns was on the front page of the paper...a photo, etc..so even non boxing fans saw it and wee curious...now with the internet you dont see it unless you intentionally log on to a boxing website. Internet sites are not "mainstream" in the true sense...the fact is your grandmother heard of Sports Illustrated but she hasnt yet heard of "boxing scene"
