    Ricky Hatton under Mayweather...WTF?

I know this is old news, but I haven't been on here in a while and decided to talk about it.

    What the heck?

First of all, Mayweather Sr. is going to do what he always does - change his fighter into these slick, defensive guys when they aren't made to do that. Remember the stunt he pulled with Delahoya. Turned a jabbing fighter with good footwork into a guy that sits back and waits for shots to come.

This move on Hatton's part is totally counter productive. He shouldn't hire a defensive wiz.

Hire a guy like Ronnie Shields. I guarantee that guy could get a helluva lot out of Ricky Hatton.

Sr is a product of his son. Without his son's hype, he really would be a blimp on the rader.

    I'd rather trust Scully, personally.

I think Hatton, as I believe he stated, wanted Sr. EXACTLY for that reason. To work on his lacking defensive skills to compliment his great offensive ability.

I agree, Mayweather will do nothing for Hatton.

If Hatton could learn one thing though, its not to 'dive in' with a punch.

Thats the 'one big flaw' Roger Mayweather identified before the Hatton/Floyd fight and it eventually got Hatton knocked out.

I reckon neither of them can do **** all, Ricky's an instinctive brawler, it'll always be that way.

Definitely agree. I love watching Rick fight, but I wouldn't mind seeing him pick up on some defensive tactics.
