I don't get the move, there are way bigger fights that can be made at 147, I think he'd be draining himself a bit by moving down to 140.

He was pretty light fight night in his last fight as I remember. It might not be a bad idea to move down and build a bit more experience. It's tough given that he currently has a belt, but he should be able to dominate 140, where at WW, Williams, Margarito, Clottey and maybe even Mosley would probably beat him right now.

He is not ducking Williams he is making a smart decision. All the other big fights are locked for the next 18 months or so. he can move down fight Bradley, Hatton Paulie or Judah? He can make more money and fight guys more his size and he will be the bigger man and come back to WW and fight big names 2 years from now when Marg Williams Cotto Clottey all finish there matches and rematches and so forth...Lefty

how the hell is berto gonna make 140. I still cant understand how he makes 147 although not that tall the guy is massive. Any ways why would he move down if he just said he was the best at welterweight. If anything be like paul williams and move up. Is not impossible...he is a small welterweight and could possibly make 140 with ease. Plus let's remember DiBella said he could fight at a catchweight against Malinaggi...they can meet at 144. I agree with this move, let's be honest...Margarito and Williams are too experienced and too big for Berto, I would not throw the kid in there with those two and ruin his career. There is no shame in Berto moving down to compete at 140.
