Ouma back in action!

The National Guard Armory in Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania will be abuzz on Saturday night October the 4th as Philadelphia Worldwide in association with Peltz Boxing present a heavily talented international show appropriately titled “Shamrocks & Dreams”. Headlining the action packed card will be a ten round junior middleweight battle featuring the return of Kassim “The Dream” Ouma (25-5-1, 15KOs) against durable veteran Martinus Clay (13-18-4, 5KOs). The under-card will feature two Irish national champions; Patrick and Paul Hyland in separate eight round bouts.
The exciting Ugandan, Kassim Ouma, coming off an upset loss against former “Contender” series star Cornelius Bundrage in March is reenergized and ready to make yet another run for a world title. Standing in his way on Saturday night is Martinus Clay, who is prepared to pull the upset. Clay has given several top prospects trouble, including a victory over Matt “The Predator Vanda (39-7, 22KOs) as well draws against “Lightning Harry Yorgey (21-0-1, 9KOs) and Tim Coleman (14-0-1, 3KOs). Clay recently moved to the Norristown, PA to improve his training regimen under the watchful eye of veteran trainer Billie Briscoe and it showed as he returned to the winning side of the ledger with a 3rd round stoppage of Shawn Purdy at the New Alhambra on July 18th.
The local Irish contingent will be treated to two Irish national champions The Hyland brothers from Dublin, Ireland, who are slated for action in separate eight round bouts. Undefeated welterweight Patrick Hyland (14-0, 7KOs) will make his first appearance on US soil as he tangles with Elvis “El Burrito” Martinez (11-26-2, 5KOs). Paul Hyland (12-0, 4KO’s) will put his undefeated record on the line against hard hitting Columbian, Felix Flores (14-9, 11KOs).
Fellow Irishman “Slick” Simon O’Donnell (6-1, 3KOs) of Galway, Ireland is also slated action in an eight round contest against late replacement Antonio “Shake-N-Bake” Baker (6-10, 3KOs) of Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Heavy handed Jamal “Da Truth” Davis (7-4, 6KOs) will face fellow Philadelphian, Chris Hall (3-4-1, 2KOs) in a 4/6 round middleweight scrap.
Undefeated Kensington, PA super middleweight, Dennis Hasson is scheduled to take on the always-dangerous opponent to be determined in a six rounder.
Rounding out the card, is a four round Philly lightweight scrap as Tim Witherspoon Jr. (0-1) takes on Kywame Hill (1-3, 1KO).
Doors open at 6PM. First fight 7:30PM.
