and it's amazing how the hate for Oscar, myself included, has clouded what a good fighter he was in his prime. Pre 147 the kid was a beast 24-0 21KOs if I am not mistaken and most of those coming off of his vaunted left hook.

The problem with Oscar is that he got caught up in his own hype and wanted to box more thus changing trainers often. Rather than sticking with what made him a beast at 140 and tweaking little things here and there he tried revamping everything at times and IMO it muddled his style.

but dont get it twisted even and ever changing Oscar still had better skills than what Cotto posseses

oscar by far now and in his prime..his left jab is way better than cottos, in his prime he is probably the best technical boxer the sport has seen since sugar ray leanord..yes better than mayweather too(however mayweather is a better evasive fighter) but in all around skill there hasnt been really anyone you can say is better technically than oscar in the last 15-20 years

Oscar would be eating jabs all not long from cotto, while oscar tries to land his left hook and is completely shocked he can't land it. Sturm can beat Oscar but Cotto can't? Right!!!

Oscar was not in shape at all for the Sturm fight. Sturm is a technically sound fighter who he should've been more prepaired for. If you know boxing you would know this is true. Plus Sturm is a true 160 ILBer. Sturm would outbox Cotto fairly easy.

different type of fighter so IMO its hard to judge Dela Hoya is better from long range but Cotto is better from mid range

Cotto is easier to hit when he backs up allthough he is a good counter puncher on the backfoot his game is mid range thats where is does damage
