Hurt him? Of course. Stop him? Unlikely.

The one and only time Calzaghe ever got caught truly flush was against Byron Michell. Mitchell was a ****er and he caught Joe right on the chin, describing the punch later as "the hardest he had ever hit another human being". Calzaghe was floored and dazed. Calzaghe was on one knee by six, but visibly wobbling, by eight he was on his feet ready to fight. Then he stopped Mitchell.

If Jones is to seriously hurt Calzaghe, he will have to catch him at least with a punch like that. To stop him, he will probably have to do so more than once, unless Calzaghe's chin has deteriorated with age, which is possible. Otherwise, yes, in all likelihood Calzaghe will walk through Roy's best shots.

Yeah Joe has a great chin but Roys shots are so fast and accurate it is hard to prepare for them.
Hopkins caught Joe off guard and dropped him, Roy is even faster and throws better single punches and more fluid combinations.

He would never have been hit with a shot like that in his prime, so telegraphed, yet Roy didnt even see or react to it. His reflexes were gone, and his focus in the ring had waned. Fighting and dominating had become so second nature to him that it was almost like he was sleepwalking in the ring.
I think Roy was looking past this fight, and Johnson is never a guy to look past, he is agressive and will maul you in the ring.
But honestly, a prime Roy would have had a field day with Johnson.

Roy has come back a little bit and has shown flashes of brillance in his past fights. If he can put it together one last time he can win. If not it is likely that he will get outworked.

His power is what will make this fight interesting. Joe has to take Roy to the ropes so he don't be at the end of Roys power as he likes to fight like this.
