i thinkits fine taking a break if you belong to a higher weight division but fighters in the lower weight division have generally smaller careers. their game is built up more around speed rather than strength and vasquez is doing the right thing by taking a break but he should be careful not to take long.
otherwise he'll be wishing he hadn't wasted that half a year. imo he should the negotiations and contract signing so that straight away after 9 months he can go straight into training.

good point. We have had light talks with certain people. But our promoters and showtime are trying to push for a fourth fight with Marquez. But we rather check out other options. We've fought Marquez 3 times consecutively, within a year. When is the last time two fighters have done that...i thinkits fine taking a break if you belong to a higher weight division but fighters in the lower weight division have generally smaller careers. their game is built up more around speed rather than strength and vasquez is doing the right thing by taking a break but he should be careful not to take long.

But back to your comment =).... I agree, too long of a break could hurt him. We will try to time it right.Comment

Although i'd love to see a forth fight between these two warriors, i think it's time they both move on and seek other match-ups. I'm a little worried for both fighters that the trilogy may have provided a lot of body-punishment and their next respected fight is where we will see all the difference. Although, too long out of the ring would leave them rusty with the likes of Juanma on the brink of dominating the division.
I can't wait to see what Rafael has coming next as he is a personal favourite of mine. All this being said, the fighters come first, so it is great that the Vazquez team is more bothered about the man, rather then greed which is corrupting the sport.Comment

Juanma is too much for Vazquez, no disrespect but the current crop of contenders are pretty dangerous. Bernabe Concepcion for one would even give Vazquez a run for his money...Izzy retired the guy's brother, now Concepcion's on a tear and is looking for payback

If only more managers were like him, Vasquez deserves the rest. I wouldn't want to see a 4th, instead of destroying each other they should be putting the whoopin on other guys in the division.Comment
