    Ike Quartey

I read in Rafeal's blog that Quartey is trying to make another comeback. He wants a fight to get off the rust near the end of the year. If Quartey wins that fight he wants a bigger fight, who do you think Quartey should go after?

I myself think he should try for a rematch with Forrest, or possibly a fight with Mosley (if Mosley can't find a better opponent). I guess he could go after a rematch with Verno Phillips aswell, because that was also a pretty good fight and Verno would probably be down to avenge that loss.

If he can make 147 why not go in with Zab they both could use a name to fight in there next fight and a win over one another could make for a match up with a Berto or someone else near the top. If they have a good enough fight maybe a $$$ rematch?,......Lefty

He should get back down to 147 if he can, that's where all the action is, he's too small for 160 and 154 is a stagnant division right now.

Edit: And he's 39 this year so who knows how much he has left.

Yea he is 39 that why I picked all the old guys at 154 as decent options for him. He is kind of a young 39 though from a boxing sence he has taken a lot of time off so while he may never be the same, I do not think he has had it beaten out of him yet.

We'll wait and see in his comeback fight, if he decides to go through with it. He was in some tough battles when he was younger so that could affect him.

I agree I would like to see him fight Judah maybe catch weight 150 or something. I think Judah has some stuff left but needs a spark and a good win. I see Quartey and Forrest fight a few years back and that resparked Forrest career and got Quartey another fight or two. I think Judah and Quartey could use eachother right now...Lefty

Anyone else think so...Regarding Judah and Quartey getting it on? I don't see anyone else in the WW needing Judah right now except maybe Berto but I don;t thinkhe will take on Judah. Clottey moved past him already and Quartey had that kind of fight with Forrest and they both managed to get fights afterwards. it is a fight where both of them could easily look good an dif the fights goes well and there are questions as to who won maybe a $$ rematch?...Lefty

I want to see how much Quartey has left first after 2 years off, but if he's impressive in his comeback I wouldn't mind seeing Judah vs Quartey.

Yea, he does need to win his tune up, preferably looking good. It is going to be in South Africa though so who will really know how he does except the hardest of hard core fans. Quartey is a solid name, and really the 154 pound class is devoid of decent opposition. Also old guys like fighting other old guys so the 154 pound division should yield him atleast 1 decent shot. If he gets that far it will be interesting to see what he has left.

He does need to win this tune up fight before anything though.
