and who cares if he lost a ton in the past. fact is that hes been kicking ass for about 2 years now, and if Marquez wants any legit belts, he has to get em from Campbell.
and Campbell is at least the 2nd best fighter at 135, there is no debate about that.
Im willing to bet my house that GBP wants Diaz to get his 3 titles back from Campbell... hes one of there young stars which they need because their elite are ready for retirement.

Casamayor clearly beat Campbell and Valero is a champ at 135 and he hasnt lost in more than 2 years and is undefeated, Casamayor has squashed at 135 over Campbell. Valero has never lost at 135 andis champ. Valero over Campbell at 135 at 135 based on too many losses at 135.Marquez is lineal champ at 135 and beat the guy who beat campbell as well, Guzman has been kickin ass for over 2 years as well, he is undefeated at 135 as well so even if he didnt fight campbell, he still a better 135 pounder than campbell. Campbell is a questionable 135 pound champ because of losses to peden , casamayor and wack ass Francisco Lorenzo. Campbell is a weak champ

Look, the simple fact is that Marquez and his team have not mentioned Hernandez as a possible fight in the future. This has come from Hernandez' team and not Marquez'. Nothing has been heard from Marquez at all yet and until something is heard no one can really say anything. That's why this typical crap from the typical Marquez obsessives is ridiculous.

Even if he were to fight Hernandez, which is very unlikely, it would be to keep busy while the other guys in the division sort out their own fights. Campbell already has a mandatory lined up, but I imagine that they will still be in talks with the Marquez team to get that fight happening. That is where Casa/Marquez and Guzman/Campbell fight was leading anyway, and seeing as Guzman probably won't be getting a fight anymore they will just push what would have been the likely conclusion if Campbell won, which in all respects now, he has.

Do you guys honestly think that if Campbell was completely free of a fight and the opportunity was there for a massive 135 pound unification fight for three belts and the Ring Title that they wouldn't make it because of a small tune up fight with former champion Carlos Hernandez? Give me a ****in' break! This fight was always going to be made anyway, which was the whole point of those previous two fights, one of which didn't eventuate.

This all coming from a Marquez-hating, obsessed freak doing his usual boring routine (it was probably his fourteenth Marquez thread in one day) and is probably third or fourth hand info that is not even from the Marquez team. I agree that if Marquez fought Hernandez if Campbell was free of his own contracts and trying to push this fight then it would be completely ridiculous for him (Marquez) to do anything else. That is not how boxing generally works though and especially not at this stage of Marquez' career when he has been pushing only the biggest possible fights. He has only taken smaller fights when no one else was available and as a tune up to a bigger fight eg. Juarez. Nothing has been confirmed at all though from either camp and this is still all just hearsay.

Unless there is already a third Pac fight in the making, which could be the only reason I see of having a tune up like Hernandez, then it would make the only sense that the Campbell/Marquez fight will be the fight that will be pushed forward. It could be though that Campbell has to take care of his mandatory beforehand and Marquez will take this fight while that happens. Either way, the two winners of Mar/Casa and Camp/Guz were to fight each other. Nothing so far has changed except that Marquez won by fighting and Campbell won because ****ing Guzman was too god damned fat, the ******, and that was all to push the big unification fight. It's still in place so far to go ahead in the future, just at what time exactly is still up in the air. That all depends as much on Campbell as on Marquez.

If Marquez beats Campbell then it should vault him past Morales and Barrera on the mexican atg list imo. I still feel Barrera beat him but neither Barrera or Morales have ever been undisputed champ at any weight.

                    blasphemy!

                    barrera >>>>>> marquez

                    morales >>>>>> marquez

marquez is great but he's 3rd behind erik and marco.

the soft resume and his fighting style just helped him age better than marco and erik.
