Not just that. I've seen about ALMOST every Pernell Whitaker fight and Pernell gets hit more. Ofcourse this was when Whtaker made his move to 147-154

Yes that was a good display of defense problem is the other guy was slow. Pernell making DLH miss was more impressive.

this video wasn't put up to dispute whitaker's place.i just tried to reiterate the point that people besides me made, that locche was a great defensive fighter.and that other guy is a hall of famer.besides locche being 42.

Here's a video of Jersey Joe Walcott made by me if anyone is interested.

I know he isn't the best defensive fighter of all time but he was an innovator in some ways.

Toney and Hopkins credit him for many of the defensive and counter punching 'tricks' they use.

Walcott is without a doubt one of the craftiest son of a bitches to ever step in the ring.

                  Agreed.

Archie Moore is another crafty defensive boxer who might not have been the best at it but deserves a mention, Moore came up with a defensive style of his own.
His cross-arm was used by many others but it seems to have disappeared completely now.

Moore was in his 40's in all of these fights.

He got overconfident against Louis and was caught by one of the best finishers of all time. Bad move.

Walcott was getting older against Rocky, I believe he was 39.
Jersey Joe looked very good in the fight regardless but lacked stamina at parts which made him go to the ropes and allowed Marciano to land some heavy body punches.

At the end Walcott had slowened down just enough for Marciano to land that big right named 'Suzie Q' which Rocky had been missing all night.
