Does it really matter? truely Mayorga was done after the first knock down. Even if he was able to get up he wouldn't have been aware enough to continue so the ref waived the fight off. There was 1 second left when he hit the canvas so to answer your question or statement no Shane would not have enough time to get to him if he got up the fight would have been over anyways. I think the ref made the right decision here. he gave him the opportunity to continue after the first knock down. It was Mayorga's fault for getting hit and not having his hands up while S=hane was on his was in. If he had covered up and maybe held like he was doing the whole fight then maybe he would have gottent he UD like you think he deserved. Honestly he should have gotten warned for holding and maybe the KO would have happened in the 7th or 8th round? Anyways it was not like Taylor-Chavez I where Steele waived off the fight and Taylor was ahead on points. A loss is a loss in my book. I rather go out on my back trying then go out on the score cards saying well at least I left the ring on my feet.....Lefty

I think were he was standing was the neutral corner but it doesn't matter since you can get right behind the ref as soon as the guy gets up. Plus he didn't even go right at him when the ref left he waited like 1 second then just dove in lol.

Mayorga deserved a chance to beat the count, especially after the ref heard the final bell ring and knew that he wasn't in any jeopardy.

Exactly. Like I said before, I'm not saying he was robbed of a victory.

You guys are nuts Mayorga had no chance. If that first knockdown happened in the middle of the 7th round, the fight would have been called there. He walked the wrong way and was given more than the usual amount of time when he got up. Then Shane destroyed what was left of Mayo and he was on the canvas for a good minute after.

Oh so because the bell rang he should have been allowed to try and get up? This makes no sense whether it was the first last or middle rounds you cannot be saved by the bell. The reff waived off the fight and did the right thing. He was done finished kaput.....He was not aware of where he was after the first knock down. The reff did him a favor then letting it go past that because the bell was near. If he would have giving him the opportunity to get up I truely don't think he could of and if he did he would have at the point if time was on the clock they would have called it a TKO anyway....LEFTY
