Ali was the greatest at refusing to go to the neutral corner and then jumping on his man.

The Oscar Bonavena fight was a master class in breaking the rule.

yeah, mosley was not all the way in the corner, but the ref was preoccupied with mayorga's health and watching him closely.

mosley did what he had to do to win.

Mayorga should have been given a chance to beat the count. The referee had already heard the bell ring so he knew that he wouldn't be hit again.

I agree about the neutral corner thing, and to be honest I actually think the fight should have been stopped after the first KD, when Mayorga got up he clearly didn't even know where the referee was.

In Britain referees are a lot more protective of the hurt fighter, whereas I have seen many unneccesary beatings in US rings.
thank god for british refs they saved manfredo's life against calzaghe. you are in our debt.

Didn't Jack Dempsey have something like that in one of his fights? He had it put in one of his contracts, that if a fighter is knocked down the other guy goes to a neutral corner.

Anyway, yeah the fight should have been stopped. When he got up from the first knock down he didn't even know where the ref was. But I'm glad it continued. Mosley needed the KO victory...

Is that last second KO the latest KO in a fight? I can't think of any fight that went 12 rounds with only 1 second remaining and score a KO.

Anyway I had the fight 8-4. He did ok in the early rounds but Mosley just out worked him later on to finish off with the last second KO. Mayorga did fight better than I expected but I think its time for him to hang it up.

Their is a rule but the ref didnt follow it. That was something out of the 1920s, pure bull****.

A lotta close rds, so I understand varied cards, although Mayo had more than 3 rds. And yeah, Shane shoulda been in aneutral corner, but I still think he finished Mayo fair and square.
