WBC mini-flyweight champion Edgar Sosa (33-5, 17 KOs) survived a trip to the canvas to retain his world title by unanimous twelve round decision over Sonny Boy Jaro (28-6, 17 KOs) on Saturday night before 12,000+ at the Arena Mexico in Mexico City. Far behind on the cards entering the ninth round, a Jaro left hook to the jaw floored Sosa, who was visibly hurt, but the champion shook it it off and finished the fight to prevail 117-110, 118-109 and 117-110, successfully defending the WBC belt for the sixth time.

12,000 fans in attendance. As much as I love Sosa, I cant believe a 108 pound fighter can draw 12,000 in his home country, and a star like Shane Mosley can't even draw 5,000 in his home state.
