    Someone explain this.,..

In virtually all of the top 10 pound 4 pound rankings, roy jones jr is never on the list, yet bernard hopkins ALWAYS is, and usually in the top 5

I dont really get it , sure rjj has lost a few fights in his last 10 fights, but so has hopkins.

    Just look at their records:

    RJJ: 52 - 4
    B Hop: 48 - 5

I dont understand, sure RJJ aint the same fighter but nor if B Hop.
Plus as its pound 4 pound, RJJ has proven his supremicy winning titles from Middleweight - Heavyweight

Whats B Hop done to deserve always being in the top 10?

and dont say cos hes 43, a HUGE 4 years older then RJ , i wnt to no a legitimate reason

Jones fell off a cliff, losing emphatically multiple times to "lesser" fighters. Hopkins' three losses were all highly contested and controversial, he in no way looked out of his league or finished.

Hopkins stepped up from Middleweight and beat Taver easily (recently), he then defended it against a top 10 p4p in Wright, plus he had a close match with #2 p4p in Calzaghe only losing a SD.

What has Jones done in the last 3 years?

all hopkins recent losses have been close and controversial, at 43 he is still fighting the best, Roy was ko`d twice 3/4 years and has done nothing since, he hasnt fought a world class fighter since then,

when was Roy`s last significant victory?

Winky was actually considered P4P #2 at the time.

The difference is simple. B-Hop lost two very close decisions to Taylor, absolutely schooled Tarver, beat Winky Wright and then lost an SD to Joe Calzaghe. RJJ was knocked out cold twice, then went on to lose a UD to Tarver and hasn't beaten anybody of any significance since.

RJJ hasn't done anything since 2005, Hopkins has had 5 big fights, 2 of which he won and the two fights with Taylor could have gone either way they were so close.

He is often rated too high in the P4P rankings though. If he doesn't beat Pavlik he shouldn't be up ther at all really.

Roy doesnt make the top 10 yet. if he beats Calzaghe he will be up there on my list.

I'll just reiterate what has been said and what is known...and what is fact...

Hopkins lost two close and contraversial fights to Taylor
Easily beats Tarver in his move up two weight classes.
Beats Winky Wright who was at the time still considered top 5 P4P
Loses a close decision to #2 P4P Joe Calzaghe (some actually feeling he won)

I agree he should be on the bottom half of the top 10 or just edging 10, but he's good enough to mythically beat a lot of fighters P4P...

Remember, P4P isn't JUST your recent win record...but also how you would fair mythically vs other fighters when weight isn't an issue..

P4P, Hopkins beats someone like Manny

Hopkins has never been clearly beaten, sans his fight wit RJ and the 1st fight of his career which I doubt anyone has ever seen, and don't really count anyway. As much as I love Roy and wanna see him back in the top 10 (which he can be if he beats Joe), Hopkins deserves to be there more than him. Roy got KTFO by Tarver and Glen and ain't looked the same since. the Felix win was good performance wise but not really relevant.
