  • Timothy Bradley May Drop Down To Lightweight

BoxingScene.com was informed by WBC junior welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (23-0, 11KOs) that he is seriously considering a move to the lightweight division. Although Bradley is undefeated and beat a guy who many considered one of the best at the weight in Junior Witter, he still can't seem to entice the big names and other champions to fight him. Five-pounds south, the lightweight division is very deep and has more than enough big names to go around. [details]

Wasn't he over the limit for the Cherry fight? Surely he'll be REALLY weight drained if he tries to make 135

He made weight I know that but didn't he have to lose some weight before the weigh in? like he was 1.5 lb's over then he came back and hour later and made weight?

It would be a smart thing to do in my opinion. Edner Cherry was moving up to fight Bradley, and despite that he still looked like the bigger man against a natural 140 LB champion. Plus Timothy is very short, hes like 5'6 if i am remembering right.

I hope he only does this after unifying all belts

I don't think he should do it, as stated above, he didn't make 140 on his first try against Cherry, I know he's short but his body is mainly muscle, dropping that extra 5 pounds could take a lot out of him.

He said he talked to the doctor and it shouldn’t be a problem

Bad idea, Bradley could be the future of his current division.
