Although Clottey is a good boxer, who has a solid guard and nice crisp punches he will lose to Paul Williams. Clottey is either on offese or defence so if you attack him all night you can force him to be very defensive minded. Also Clottey tends to fade in fights and I doubt that would work out well in a fight with Williams. I also think Clottey is kind of a front runner so if things start to turn bad I do not know if he can turn it around.
Williams is a sloppy boxer there is no getting around that. Clottey should be able to land some nice crisp right hands. Williams gives up his height and likes to fight inside a lot which would actually work out well against Clottey, Willaims grappling should allow him to get some work done on the inside. Clottey is far superior boxer from a technical standpoint so that should help him. The range of the fight would be crucial, because I think Clottey would have it better from distance even with Williams reach. Clottey would have to be very active over 12 rounds to win a decision, or damage Williams face enough so the fight is stopped, but Clottey would have to pace himself because if he throws to much early he will most likely fade and Williams will take over as the fight progresses.
I think Clottey is tough enough and good enough to get to the end of the fight and even win a few rounds, I just think Williams would win 8 of them. I can't really see either guy getting knocked out to be honest, if Clottey was a big puncher it would be possible but he is not a 1 punch knock out artist, and even though Williams lets himself get hit clean way to much I do not think Clottey is the type of fighter that would take advantage of that flaw.Comment

Williams by decision, I've said it before, Williams' tactics against Margarito would be effective against Clottey, Clottey waits for his opponents to finish punching before returning fire himself, Williams with his workrate would be able to take advantage of that.Comment

It would be a good fight, and be a perfect setup for a Margarito rematch.
It should be on the undercard of Margarito vs Cotto II.Comment
