Well suck it up, ******s, they may not come along often, but Calzaghe is the real deal, the best SMW champ there's ever been. It'll be a long time before the USA or anywhere for that matter produces a fighter as good as him, I shall look forward with great anticipation to the day it happens.
Erm, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Roy Jones Jr., Bernard Hopkins, even Taylor is a better fighter than Calzaghe - beat Hopkins twice, undefeated against Winky, beat Joppy, two fights with Pavlik. Calzaghe's biggest wins are Eubank who was shot, Jeff Lacy who beat who? Michael Kessler who beat who? Bernard Hopkins was 43 and he beat Calzaghe.

Funny how nobody talks about Ricardo Lopez - he made 26 title defenses and was undefeated for over 15 years - Calzaghe will soon be forgotten about.

It's Mikkel, repeat, M-i-k-k-e-l. You think you'd be able to spell the name of the current SMW number one. Is it a coincidence he's also not from your country, and you only list American fighters in your post?

          Think not, newb/alt.

I believe Ricardo Lopez is regarded as maybe the best ever boxer in his weight class, a bit like Joe.

The 168 division is dead - you had two bums make a combination of over 40 title defenses in Sven Ottke and Joe Calzaghe - that says it all. 168 is a new division to boxing, it has to be the weakest of all time. Roy Jones Jr. beat James Toney at 168 when Toney was the No.1 pound for pound fighter in the world, Calzaghe has "beaten" one pound for pound fighter in 45 fights and that was by SD.

Deragatory dismissive comments of more euro fighters, and positive ones of only American ones.

                Hmmmmm...........I'm spotting a pattern here.

I'd say 70 % of you american posters, are soo ignorent. In your heads there's only top american boxers. When this UK all-the-great is on the brinck of retirement, you don't even have the balls to at least show him some sort of respect, I'd like to see any of you make 21 titledefences, unify all titles at supermiddleweight and taking on lightheavyweight, which obiously in your minds are SOOO easy to do. Get the **** off with those comments.

It's so ridiculess, I wonder if it's because he is white.

It is truly pathetic, I agree. I like Calzaghe better than Hopkins, Toney, Jones and I even think it possible that he would have beaten Jones in his prime, but I don't feel the need to try and say theses were poor boxers, or undermine their achievements. It seems strange to me that anyone could feel such strong hate towards a clearly talented boxer that they actually have to attack him. I really don't know what causes it. Hormones maybe?
