I cannot remember anyone retiring in their prime with several great challengers ready, willing and waiting.

Who besides Floyd Mayweather has made such a gigantic duck???

Sugar Ray Leonard but he came back. To be fair Leonard had a serious eye injury.

Not sure if you can say Lewis was prime but Vitali definitely was. Floyd ran from Margs and everyone that says Floyd would own him blah blah blah cant explain why Floyd went after the smaller Hatton over the #1 welter challenger.

Yes. The detached retina was uncurable at the time.

Money obviously. But when he retired afterwards without facing Cotto, Margarito and DLH........ Well.... look at the pic in the opening post.

An old timer Fidel la Barba quit when he was champ, came back though but he never made it to the top again. IMO Tito retired the 1st time early, he had alot of good years left but screwed himself by collecting ring rust.

I don't see any connection between the PW threads and this. But if you can please enlighten me.
