Bernabe Concepcion Stops Caro in a Bloody Brawl

A lot of you guys who hadn't SEEN the fight are selling Geovanni Caro short. He was a shorter version of Steven Luevano, and I was really surprised by his 11-4-4 (9KOs) record after the way he fought last night. He was timing Abe all night with his straight rights and nifty left jabs and hooks., and that explains why Concepcion's left eye was almost shut while his right was also swelling badly in just a few rounds. Caro countered beautifully but was unfortunately caught by the big bombs from Abe, and that was because Caro didn't lack the courage to mix it up, he ain't the reigning super bantamweight champion of Mexico for nothing, he's one tough hombre.
The alleged low blow in the 8th round was a legitimate one, right smacked in the bread basket. The ref was behind the action and didn't even saw who did what and bought Caro's acting, who was writhing in pain in the neutral corner. The ref deducted a point from Abe and gave Caro a breather, but the breather did more good to Abe than Caro as Concepcion was gassing out at the tailend of the last few rounds (4th, 5, 6th and 7th).
Caro took a 3 minute break, and when the fight resumed, Concepcion went at Caro like a wild man, wailing away with both arms. Caro was caught by surprised and took too many hard punches that put him away for good.
It was a good night for boxing...Comment

While its off topic, Castro was a great fighter.
But Caro is a far better fighter than his record would have you know. And its got nothing to do with numbers.Comment
