if he fought pavlik it would be big but no where as big as his fight with jones but lets say both win their next fights then that would be as big as calzaghe's fight with jones, probably bigger.

this is a smart, buisness decision.

boxing will flourish from these fights. They need to build this fight some more and pavlik needs to beat hopkins then its all set in stone.

Calzaghe won't fight Pavlik, he'll go into retirement because he is scared of Pavlik. Calzaghe doesn't like fighting undefeated fighters, he was basically forced to get in the ring against the younger Kessler. If you look back in time, he never wanted to step in the ring against Kessler. It was finally forced by hbo or someone.

two undefeated guys one from MW and one from SMW - LHW

it would prolly be bigger than this fight

the only thing that makes this fight huge... is if a 39 year old past it legend beats a 45-0 champion

It's a big event, I am looking forward to it. But I would look forward to a Pavlik fight a lot more. I still have a feeling that Calzaghe will fight Pavlik after Jones anyway, so i'm not moaning.

I think Joe will go on to face Pavlik too and it will be a major event. Although even if he does and beats Pavlik some people still won't be happy and will then say **** like "oh Calslappy's only retiring cos Chad Dawson scarred him into it". Some people will just never give J.Cal credit.

boxing fans know this fight is a sham. it'll still make money though.
