Fans Spend $16m+ On De La Hoya-pacquiao Tickets

Press Release: Tickets for De La Hoya-Pacquiao are already gone just hours after going on sale, making the almost 16,000-seat arena a complete sell out with a gross gate of almost $17.0 million, making it the second biggest gate in boxing history. "This is just a reflection of the overwhelming interest in this mega-event and we are extremely delighted that tickets sales were so swift," said Richard Schaefer. "The match-up is one of the best in boxing and will be one of the biggest events the sport has ever seen." "This is fantastic and shows the magnitude and appeal of this event," said Bob Arum. "When you have two superstars like Manny Pacquiao and Oscar de la Hoya fighting each other, the public is going to respond and that is what they just did." The De La Hoya vs. Pacquiao pay-per-view telecast, beginning at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT, will be produced and distributed by HBO Pay-Per-View.

Hey guys I got three $1,500 lower level seat tickets to Oscar De La Hoya vs Pacquiao. These are really good seats in the VIP entrance and fighters entrance corner so you can high five the fighters as they walk to the ring and back. PM to negotiate prices before I PIMP the hell out these tickets!

only 2,000 or 3,000 tickets were actually sold. The rest are blocks being held for Golden Boy, Top Rank, and MGM.

No, its a matter of two large names going at it. This isnt a fight anyone demanded, called for or anything like that, its a de la hoya fight against another big name, thats it for the most part.

Rich Celebrities going to another one of oscars boxing events... The only celebrity I respect who goes to these boxing events are Jack Nicholson because hes been to like every fight even the non-big fights that bring out all the celebrities. Jack Nicholson is a real boxing fan and most of the other celebrities are phoneys who could give 2 ****s about boxing and just go for the publicity and ****.
