I think he shuld get cerdit for beating JMM, and a fighter like Juan Manuel Lopez to fight him, it'd be a good fight.

John doesn't get much attention because he's done little to warrant it, among other reasons. His biggest claim to fame is a "win" over Marquez in a boring fight where most think Marquez was clearly robbed of the victory. He hasn't taken on anyone of note besides JMM(unless you want to count an old Gainer), and fights only in Indonesia or Japan. There's no noise coming out of his camp saying that he wants to fight in the US, or that he wants any strong opposition coming to fight him in his hometown. Most of the big names have left the division now, probably the biggest fight actually in Featherweight for him would be Linares. And to top all that off, John doesn't have much power and isn't much of an action fighter in general.

Most likely he defends his trinket belt in Indonesia for a few more years, then he slips, loses to some journeyman, and retires.
