**** happens. I wouldn't call his performance disgraceful though.
He fought his ass off. He just lost to the better guy.
That happens from time to time, and with almost every fighter at one point.
When they just don't have anymore...
In fact, I respect Cotto more after the fight for taking it and being very game for a long ass time.
He gave me my money's worth for sure.Comment

Would Mayweather be ****** enough to trade blow with a MW and try to impress the crowd or do what Cotto did for the first 6 rounds instead do it for 12 rounds.
Mayweather has better Chin Stamina Accuracy and is the smarter boxerLast edited by Flawless.; 09-22-2008, 07:51 PM.Comment

I agree with the thread starter, cotto had an air of invisibility, sure he's been shook a couple times earlier in his career, but the guy was on a warpath and most people (including cotto himself) thought margarito was just a stepping stone in forcing a big money fight with mayweather possibly later down the line.
Now to lose his unbeaten record, in the manner that he did, knocked down several times and then forced to quit is gonna totally shatter his confidence. He def won't be the same again, not saying he can't win fights anymore. But what he took wasnt just a flash knockout, that was a heart crushing beating he took that nightComment
