Anyone else find it hard to take MMA/UFC seriously?

sorry to contribute to another MMA thread on NSB, but i train at a gym that does both karate and boxing and theres always dudes goin in wearin tap out clothin tap out everything and think they the ****. yes these guys are workin hard but just seein them throw bags on the floor and hit it with all they got, tryin to do knee strikes n ****, i just cant take that serious for some reason. i cant take MMA serious for some reason. and i have tried on numerous occasions to watch a ufc or mma fight to try and understand why people like it and i cant find it. no offense to anyone but that **** sucks. all they do is roll around. i cant take mma seriously, sure they are growin as bigger then boxing, but on the real, that ****s whack to me. that is all.

Dude just give it time! I love MMA and Boxing but I just hate the fan base that ufc markets too...hopefully it will change and we get more of the everyday blue collar types wathcing and regular people who like sports and not the frat boy, nail polish wearing trendy *****dos.

They need to appeal tot he masses instead of the extreme sports genre since ufc is already on lock people will buy it regardless.

UFC is trash, it dont take a brain surgeon to twist somebody's arm or leg, MMA is just the easy way out because they could not make it in boxing. Also it consists of WWE rejects. Nothing more. They dont knnow the hard work that one must put in as an amateur then fighting your way up as a pro going through every obstacle to get your title shot.

I'm getting the feeling that you've trained boxing since you were a kid. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I can understand training in one style for a long time and then see a totally new style and get totally confused. It takes a while to truly comprehend the theories of grappling and it's applications.

Why don't you try asking those guys questions about it next time you see them. Better yet, if you got time, go to Youtube and look up Eddie Bravo or Erik Paulsen. Some of their lectures and instructionals are posted there.

yeah, i read a headline on the newspaper that a vast majority of ****sexuals love watching MMA. It must have something to do with the rolling around the floor on top of each other crap all the ****s love. Im not trying to diss the gay community here, but two guys twisting each other's arms and rolling on the floor sounds gay to me.

I take MMA/UFC serious, but I love boxing more. Both sports provide a different form of good entertainment. Both sports are beautiful.
