Good call. Tuas chin was insane and he punched like a mother****er, ask Ruiz!

Also, Big George Foreman of course.

    And Vitali Klitschko!

      Carlos Monzon,Mike McCallum....

Whoever mentioned Ernie Shavers should start watching a different sport.

A lot of the guys being mentioned weren't huge punchers, or their chins weren't that great.

          Earnie Shavers? Thomas Hearns?

Their chins disqualify them from serious consideration on this thread.

Jake LaMotta may have the best chin ever, but he wasn't too much of a puncher. James Toney had power, more so in the lower divisions, but still, not a huge puncher. Marvin Hagler's power was good, but not great. Shane Mosley's great KO % is because of his speed and activity, and aggressive style. He was never insanely powerful man. Carlos Monzon had fairly heavy hands, and was accurate with that straight right hand, but wasn't an extremely powerful man. Vitali Klitschko (sort of a heavyweight homeless man's version of Monzon) has heavy hands, but without the type of vicious power of a Mike Tyson or Lennox Lewis. He has that great KO percentage because of weaker level of opposition, and also he was an accurate accumlation puncher (at least against better opposition). He also didn't face too many big punchers either. Two of the 3 big punchers he faced either rocked or hurt him (Lummox, Sanders), and the other looked for a soft spot on the canvas (Hide). Julio Cesar Chavez wasn't a big puncher, but had heavy hands and usually broke guys down over the long haul (at least against better opposition).

Sandy Saddler is a strong candidate. He's one of the hardest hitting featherweights of all-time, and suffered just one stoppage defeat in over 160 fights. George Foreman was ridiculously heavy-handed, and owned a very good chin. Sonny's quit-job aside, Rocky Marciano and Sonny Liston were very powerful guys with sturdy chins. Charley Burley was a very powerful puncher, who could take a real good shot too.

Among more recent fighters, Gerald McClellan, well, unfortunately his career ended early, but he seemed to have a very good chin and was a big puncher. Oliver McCall's chin was titanium, and he could punch (his KO of Oleg was kinda funny). David Tua and Mike Tyson were both powerful guys with very good chins. The thing with them, regarding Tyson's KO losses and Tua's lack of them, is that I think guys were more aggressive for the finish against Tyson. Except for the Ibeabuchi fight, Tua tends to go into a bit of a shell when he takes some leather and looks for openings. Tyson does it to a lesser extent, but tended to continue to walk forward mindlessly and take more punishment, and then got stopped.

Of the recent fighters, I'd have to go with David Tua.

                How about Naseem Hamed?

Out of the million times I've seen him knocked down (I've only seen him fight twice), he never really looked hurt.

Plus, he had the biggest punch in the sport when he was fighting.
