    Vanes needs alittle work....

Now this is just my opinion so i dont want Vanesboxing to jump down my throat..... but Vanes is just not ready for a next step up. Medina was hitting him way to much. If those were punches from Angulo it would have been over in the 3rd round.

he is as ready as he is gonna be. at this point he is about as good as he is gonna be really. he has been brought along ultra slow as it is. if he does not step up now, and find out if he can hang with the best fighters it will be to late. he is good, but i don't see him as elite...ever.

Vanes did. He threw some beautiful combonations and lacked some sick counters, but man his defense is pretty bad. If Medina had thrown more it would have been a lot closer.

i agree, his defense is poor. that will catch up to him against a top guy for sure.

I really do think angulos last opponent Richard Gutierrez would beat Vanes.

It's so weird though. Some guys you know you can outclass, and they still hit you. It's the damndest thing. Sometimes it's really subtle, like you have them timed and have a good beat on them, and they land shots out of nowhere.

Against better fighters you are more aware and on point.
I thought Vanes did pretty well tonight, but he's still pretty new to the game on the pro level.
                  He won fairly easily though.

You can't really expect a ko every time out and expect to get hit by some punches.

                  Another step on the ladder.
Vanes is game. He'll do pretty good.
