The ancient Egyptian town of Giza and the Great Pyramids will be the setting for a WBF heavyweight title clash between Danny Williams and Frans Botha on November 30th. Details of the fight were announced today by ‘Fight Production’ boss Olaf Schroder who along with Louaa Boxing Promotions will stage the bout in a specially erected open-air amphitheatre right at the foot of the pyramids and the Great Sphinx, the first prizefight ever to take place at the Middle Eastern site. Contracts were signed at a series of meetings between all parties five days ago. "The ring will be erected about 150 meters from the Great Pyramids and we are organizing special lighting displays to illuminate the monuments in a spectacular way," stated Schroder. "It's not everyday you can box with the pyramids looking down on you."
