Marquez should fight Campbell first, that way they can settle who is THE man at 135, then Diaz should fight the winner.

He wont fight Campbell because that's a risky fight for less money JMM will continue to go after Manny not for "legacy" but because he can earn millions losing to Pac and maybe a few 100k's for getting an ass kicking by Nate. Oh no maybe JMM fights for the money after all.........

Campbell is a total badass, no question. He wants to fight Marquez on the Pacquiao-De La Hoya undercard, which is what pretty much everyone wants. and at the end of the day its true...he holds all the belts, Marquez is technically the Ring Champ...theres no better fight to be made at 135lbs.

Diaz has plenty of other people to beat up at 135. he needs some easier fights so he can heal up, otherwise his body will completely beat up by 30. hell, lets have him fight Casamayor...or Santa Cruz...or Peterson. or wait...what about Prescott? or even Jesus Chavez?

But if Juan Manual is interested in fighting me, I'm all for it. My position all along has been that I have an IBF mandatory (#1 ranked Ali Funeka) to take care of, but I'm sure for a fight of this magnitude something could be worked out with the Funeka kid and the IBF for him to step aside for one fight to allow me and Marquez to get it on. Some folks think I'm the best lightweight in the world, and some folks think that honor belongs to Marquez. Well no matter which way you have it, me and him are #1 and #2 in the division, and a fight between us clears it up once and for all as to who is the baddest man at 135. I'm ready to roll right now. Marquez just went 11 rounds, but he didn’t get seriously dinged up or anything so why not make this the co-feature to Oscar-Pacquiao on Dec 6th? He should be able to go again in two (with) and a half months no problem. The cynical side of me says no way this happens, that the in-house fight between Marquez and Diaz will get made instead. But I still wanted to put this statement out to let everyone know that I'm ready, willing, and more than able to send Marquez back down to 130, if the powers that be will just get out of the way and let it happen."

              IBF/WBO/WBA champion

If JMM wants to be considered the best at 135 he MUST beat Campbell and then Juan. IMO he loses both fights but if I had to pick the more winnable fight it's vs Campbell.
Damn gotta respect nate! I hope goldenboy considers putting this as the co mainevent to oscar vs pacquiao! it would be a good idea because when pacman loses to oscar then the audience will still buy a fight with pacman vs jmm or nate! because they will know who jmm and nate is from watching them as the co feature.

thats an excellent idea...but its a pipe dream.

I agree with irish Juan needs to keep busy while he waits for the Campbell rematch. IMO we can forget JMM fighting Juan that fight is way too dangerous and JMM knows it. But I dont see Juan taking easy fights and probably pushes for a bout with Santa Cruz, honestly Juan beating Casa does nothing for him because if he wins early people will say Casa was finished after the JMM fight and if Juan wins a decision he gets criticized for letting a faded former champ take him the distance. Beating the younger, close to prime Santa Cruz makes Juan look better. IMO it's only a matter of time before Campbell rematches Juan because outside of Manny there's no one at 135 that can generate the money Juan can for Campbell. Boxing is a business first and a sport second.

If he wants legacy over money then fighting and beating the best 2 guys at 135 is what he should be doing, but instead he's going after Manny for the money.....oh no another guy that fights for money what will the hypocrites do now that JMM has been exposed as the same as every other prizefighter.
This is about as absurd a post that I've read on here about J.M.M. Another undercover Pac Money Bags fan trying his best to tell us what J.M.M should be doing lol. First the word was "honor" lol, now it is "legacy"....comical.
