Luan Krasniqi-Aleksander Dimitrenko Fight on Nov. 15

Universum have announced that heavyweights Luan Krasniqi and Aleksander Dimitrenko fight November 15 at the Burg-Waechter Castello in Düsseldorf making it a "Golden November" with Felix Sturm vs Sebastian Sylvester scheduled for November 1 in Oberhausen and Hugo Hernan Garay vs. Jurgen Brahmer set for November 22 in Rostock. Especially Sturm vs Sylvester stand out. Krasniqi and Dimitrenko in a WBO I/C titlefight is an internal eliminator where Dimitrenko got a lot to lose but needs to impress to continue a further climb up the ladder. For Luan it´s his last chance simple as that. [details]

Why did Dimitrenko take this fight? He's rated top 5 in all ABC organizations and Krasniqi is not even mentioned in top 15. This fight offers nothing. I hope Dimitrenko knocks Krasniqi out convincingly and moves on, this is a waste of a fight.

Dimitrenko by stoppage. I'm really waiting on Dimitrenko to make his move in the division. Hopefully after this fight he'll fight a top guy.

Universum has not done a good job with Dimitrenko this year. He's had only one fight so far. And now, beating the old, inactive Krasniqi will not do him any good.

It should be Haye vs. Dimitrenko, instead of Haye vs. the clubfighter JD Chapman and Dimitrenko vs. shot Krasniqi.

This is whats really wrong with the heavyweight division, not a lack of talent.

Are you kidding? Haye would retire before fighting Dimitrenko.

Krasnigi is well-known in Germany. This fight should generate some interest and a nice purse. I doubt if Krasnigi will give Dimitrenko much trouble. It's likely his last payday and he knows it.

Agreed, Krasniqi's name means Dimitrenko will make 2 or 3 times what he would fighting another Derek Rossy without taking on any real risk.

It's a perfect fight for Krasniqi, no doubt. Dimitrenko should fight a top 5 fighter to land a title shot though, a fight with Krasniqi won't do that. A future title shot would generate 10 times the interest and purse, this fight just postpones it. I just don't get it.

Instead of fighting an unknown can he can make a nice purse here with only little risk IMO. I think this is a nice careermove. It will also provide a bit of pressure on him as the crowd probably will be undecided as for who to support.

Maybe you're right. Still, I'm not happy with the fight. I'm betting up to 100K on Dimitrenko though.
