i even saw a castillo vs duran poll, can you believe that!
It's only natural for people to want to think about fighters would match up against each other, that's why we come on boxing forums. You are right, some Floyd fans over hype him but I really haven't seen many threads talking about how great he is or was. Here is a search for Castillo and there really aren't any threads hyping him at all.http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/se...archid=1571360

Also, that thread you are referring to on Duran vs. Castillo was made by domain. Just look at the poll results..http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/po...s&pollid=12020

Not one person picked Castillo to win so I'm not sure where your argument comes from..

he made his name off a controversial loss to mayweather.
jlc was a very good fighter when he could make 135 successfully. In JLC's prime none of the current lightweights could beat him.

          disagree.

marquez and pacquiao both would win, juan diaz would be 50/50

That's your opinion. How does somebody not agreeing with you on this prove that Castillo was over rated?

You an idiot, Castillo has two TKO losses on cuts by Javier Jaiuregei and one to Cesar Soto. Both are former champs. Castillo always fought (and mostly beat) the best of his era, more than Calzaghe can say.

WHAT IN THE ****? That is a killer resume. His record in those fights? 11-7-1 (5). A two time belt holder, once scored the Upset Of The Year . 5 defenses in two runs as belt holder. That is a HoF resume.

Actually the diehard Mexicans tend to downplay Castillo in order to discredit Mayweather.

At the time, that was a big name for Floyd to fight.

What the **** you talking about we mention Castillo because Castillo beat Floyd in there first fight. Even the second fight was very close.

Castillo was a great lightweight and i too belive he'd be king at lightweight, people used to complain when he was dominting lightweight that he was some big monster picking on kids. Castillo was a great fighter in his prime. The first man to beat Floyd Mayweather.
