He's leaving one division with a lot of talent and entering another with even more: Cotto, Margarito, Williams, Hoya, Mayorga.

He'll lose to all of them, though.

Watching it as a casual fan is one thing...actually having lived it is a whole another thing...now I’m sure ya'll know that there are but a handful of pugilist who actually make serious money in this sport...for every DLH there are thousands of boxers out there who make chump change and still put their lives on the line every time out...I gotta think there is something more than just the money...there's gotta be...if not why would they do it?? for the love of the sport...that's why...
I understand what you're saying, but with all due respect...Manny Pacquiao isn't your ordinary fighter working for chump change. Just like Marquez, Pac has payed his dues and his style of fighting is eye candy for both casual and hardcore boxing fans.

My argument is I don't think Pacquiao should be under so much scrutiny for taking a fight against Oscar De La Hoya. Boxing's greatest fights consisted of big purses even dating back to the 30's & 40's and this is no different.

Manny & JMM will fight again being they beat their next couple of opponents. I just find it funny the people not routing for Pacquiao are Marquez fans screaming for a 3rd fight when they should be praising him as well being he gave Marquez the 2 best fights of his life with a 3rd looming sometime in the future. My 2 cents...

yeah your argument is completely valid as long as DLH is still around actively fighting. He'll continue to be called out, and forced to make strictly $$ fights that are "big global events" and "good for the sport of boxing"

im sick of the above, and just my take but it's more a criticism of Oscar rather then Pacquiao.

yeah it's really a shame. nothing can be done, and DLH will just milk the boxing fans dry.

absolutely sickening to see him on Sportcenter promoting his own fight
saying how it'll be the biggest event in boxing history.
