Well i gotta be honest, i don't like King. I don't like Warner. I don't like Arum even more than the previous. But for Gamboa, being promoted by ANYONE outside Germany is a good thing in comparison. He would risk being one of those undefeated things coming out of Europe (apart from the good ones you know who you are, or you don't :S) we tend to hate because they have the strange ability to remain untested until the very final fights of their careers and even then they never go against the odds. At least in the US prospects (most of them anyway) tend to be tested early. Although i have to say Gamboa's promotion at least didn't do too bad job as Gamboa already have a couple good names under his belt.

I really, really liked how the combination of Arena and Shaw were moving him. I sort of feel uneasy about the new move. He better keep his October 4th date though. That HBO card might not go on without him and it is a good one top to bottom.

Not that I'm a big fan of Gary Shaw or anything, but it seemed to me Shaw was doing a very good job with him, fighting the right opponents (good ones too) and getting him exposure on ESPN, HBO and Showtime. Not sure what Don King has planned but lets hope he has the kid fighting good opposition and frequently.

I agree they were doing a very good job of bringing him along. Not too fast, but they were giving him good opposition for his experience level, and they were doing it frequently. Considering Yuri's age and ammy pedigree, I would think this next opponent would be the last step at this stage, and he would move forward to challenging world ranked opponents. Don King will probably continue on that path, but it needs to be done properly, if he gets thrown in with the wrong guys too soon it could ruin him.
Don King does seem to be getting a lot of good signings, I just wonder if he is gonna make good on his promises.
