I think Marquez would be even more dangerous if...

I disagree, Marquez, while being a very, very good counterpuncher and defensive fighter isn't that good of an offensive fighter, he often leans too far forward when he's aggressive and leaves his chin exposed way more, he's fine the way he is now.

Anyways many times throughout the fight i saw that Marquez would land different punches and sting Casamayor, where his head or body would sort of wobble. After doing this he would just stop punching and let Casamayor regain his stance and momentum leading Casamayor to Answer back.

Now, if each time he would stun Casamayor and would come forward effectively with combinations, imo he would have stopped Casamayor a bit sooner.

After the knockdown he fought the perfect example of what i am trying to say, he saw him hurt and went in for the kill and he executed perfectly
I don't know what you're talking about.... JMM fought the perfect fight. JMM doesn't have the power to do real damage to lightweights. Sure he KOed Casamayor, who has never been stopped but Casamayor is past his prime and deserved to lose to Cruz and barely beat katsidis. That same Casamayor was neck and neck on the scorecards with JMM until he got knocked out. Casamayor's defense was not as tight as it should be and also Casamayor played the aggressor, something that he rarely does. The more aggressive JMM is the more he gets hit. see the fights with Pac and Barrera where he gets dropped. Casamayor couldn't hurt JMM because JMM's defense was really tight. JMM let the combos fly but only when he saw that Casamayor was open to get hit.

JMM imho has to be very selective about who he gets aggressive with. He can't just go in there and try and brawl with just anyone.

JMM closed the show because he knew Casamayor was hurt, otherwise he wouldn't and shouldn't have gone for the kill. that's what being a skilled boxer is all about. You fight within your self and control that which you can control. In fact it was Casamayor who was fightout outside himself and who was getting frustrated. Casamayor knew he was the bigger stronger guy, obviously he tasted some of JMM's punches and knew he wouldn't get hurt, except that he got too confident let his hands down when he was backing up. It didn't help that JMM is a great combination puncher.

You must of forgot or never seen a prime Marquez. Before he started being more aggresive he was a laid back counter puncher basicly landing everything he threw. Now he's a smart aggreser but makes more mistakes. If Marquez had fought Pacquiao in his old style for there 2nd fight there no way he gets knocked down, Marquez rushing and making the fight was how Pacquio was able to counter punch Marquez coming in.

And what they used to call that you say is was called, "taking a pictures" you notice you gave your opponet a great shot and then look to see how he reacted or see him fall. Rocky Juarez does this, James Toney does this, Mayweathaer did it, and many others did it. Marquez did that a lot against Pacquiao in there 2nd fight. But he didn't do it when he knocked down then out Casamayor he just keep throwing. Just like when you see some boxers that land a clean right hand and they bring it back slow or hold it high they are "taking a picture" thinking there opponet is going to fall or is badly hurt.

I am not asking for him to be a brawler. I am simply saying, when he has a guy hurt or stunned, he should do more about it, not just let him regain momentum.

Against Casamayor i saw him stun him a few times, but just kept waiting, then Casamayor would counter after regaining his equilibrium.

Anyways i am not bashing him. He boxed an almost perfect fight and showed why is the 2nd best fighter in the world

I'll tell you what, when he hurts someone or has them stunned, they aren't gaining any momentum when they find that everything they do to try and turn the tides is getting them countered 3-4 times in return.

Against Casamayor he fought the perfect fight, as you said, and if he altered perfection he risked compromising the integrity of the mission. Rule 1 of boxing is if it's working fine, don't fix it. Marquez knew that getting over-anxious and trying to finish Casamayor wasn't what had gotten him the momentum so he was going to continue executing his game plan and fight the fight he's best suited for.

if marquez put his foot on the gas he might have gave casamayor some openings... marquez said it himself, the more intelligent boxer would win the fight. I don't know why you're complaining. if jmm tries and gets "exciting" at 135 he'll taste canvas.

I think that Marquez felt like the old crafty Casamayor was setting traps and playing possum whenever he hurt him and was reluctant to jump on him for fear of eating another straight left that still haunts him from you know who. Why risk going for the KO when he was boxing his way to a decision. Look at what happened when Katsidis when for the KO over Casamayor. Maybe Nacho didn't think Marquez's power would serve him well at 135 and planned to outbox Casamayor for 12 rounds.
