Juan M. Marquez Aces Post-Weekend Report Card

By Cliff Rold - The weekend began with a shroud of controversy on the gulf coast and an air of uncertainty in the desert. By the end of the night, all the negatives were replaced by what always turns frowns upside down: a damn good fight. Heading into the battle between Juan Manuel Marquez and Joel Casamayor, the question was which of the two counter-punchers would lead.

jmm was just too lucky casamayor's ******ity the better of him when he was hit by that overhand right, and with hurt pride, challenged marquez to hit him which marquez did... and bingo... the end for casamayor.

but casamayor was going well into that previous rounds. if only casamayor is not ******, that show would have another result.

now, marquez' fans are calling out pacquaio for the third fight. if marquez loses to pacquiao again, which i'm sure he will, his fans will criticize pacquiao for beating a washed up fighter.

Lucky? He was tagging him with the right hand all night. There was no luck in that fight, only great skill and a perfect end to a brilliant fight. At this level it is rare for a fighter to get a lucky KO and that was certainly no lucky KO. It was set up well, followed up on and finished.

Casamayor always fights that way and in this fight Marquez was good enough to be able to take advantage of it and win brilliantly. Then again, you being a rabid Pac fan would try to down-play it as luck.

Watch it again. There is no luck in landing a string of hard right hands. Are all of Pac's KO wins lucky or caused by the ******ity of his opponents? Actually, the only reason Morales lost to Pac and got knocked out was because he was ****** and that's why Pac got lucky in those fights and won. If he didn't then Pac would not have been lucky and he would have lost.

Pac got lucky against Morales, what type of statement is that? Pac vs. EM 2 Pac clearly out worked Morales TKO. Morales had nothing left and for their third fight Pac DEMOLISHED Morales to the point where HE DID NOT WANT TO get up. A straight left to the face that drops Morales. How the hell is that luck? Now I agree that JMM's right hit Casa flush because that was Marquez's weapon that night and in the end it won the fight, but to state that Pacs wins over Morales was luck?????
