You see, they're planing a card for the same day in Ireland. The headling is Dan Henderson vs. Rich Franklin. Now, everyone from the MMA community knows for a fact that Dana is trying to get his boy Franklin a third shot at the Middleweight title with this match and after Evans/Liddell, the community really doesn't like that crap. Other then that, Silva doesn't put too much thought into undercards playing the UK or Ireland.

If Golden Boy can pull out a real good match up out of their pocket and mix that with the Fedor match, You really can put a dent in Dana's ass.

I think the Affliction/Golden Boy merge under cuts both sports at the same time.

Affliction, because it shows they for the time being are unable to make it as a Full time MMA promotion (because of the merge the first 4 shows will have both boxing+MMA ... means less MMA, for an MMA promotion not a good thing)

and boxing because it's been a reoccurring argument through the media and even on here (still counting down the days till ANOTHER tired and boring MMA>boxing article)

that MMA is "taking over"

so give a co-promotion between Boxing and MMA, and all the above arguments get brought to surface all over again.
