Guzman Deserves Treatment That Castillo Got

I remember the outrage and pandemonion when Castillo didnt make weight for his second match against Corrales. So many were mad and called Castillo names and that he knew he was gonna weight too much and should have notified somebody. Guzman had the same chance to notify somebody, Campbell, who takes on all-comers, Im sure would have came to an agreement with him. Now we may be out of a match.


Now if they fight and Campbell wins, you will hear every excuse from Guzman's fans about him being weight drained for a fight he is moving up in, go figure, which is his fault.

Which is more reason to not be overweight. I cant remember a guy moving UP in weight being overweight, thats silly. Floyd Sr. Im sure knew he was fat something should have been done, one thing that could have happened is that the scales they were using to weigh him could have been off, so when he came to weigh on weigh in he could have not known he would be over, but that probably wasnt the case either.

Heres my opinion on this matter:

Jose Luis Castillo had been fighting at 135 for 5 years! 5 years of struggling to make the same weight. Jose Luis Castillo came in at 138.5 for the Corrales rubber match, the same exact weight Joan Guzman came in at yesterday for his fight with Nate Campbell. His debut fight at 135 people. Never ever fought at 135 and on his first time he fails miserably while Castillo had been struggling for years to stay in the division. That to me does not sound like a fair comparison.
